First Line Friday – Operation Werewolf

FLF-BlackAri. HA. What can I say about Ari? How about: She has good intentions. She doesn’t always think things through, but she means well. Now imagine her trying to set all her supernatural friends up with ladies who will appreciate them. GOOD TIMES!

“I’m sorry, you want to what me?”

Ari slumped down in her chair and regarded her best werewolf friend from under beetled brows. It was a look she’d been practicing in the mirror lately and she thought it made her look fierce and confident.

Steepling her fingers, she waited until Michael had stopped pacing to glare at her before talking. “I want to set you up with someone. Trust me, Mikey, she’s a nice girl.”

“She’s a harpy. Literally. A woman whose lower half is a bird. How do you imagine that would work?” Michael threw himself down into a chair and let his head fall back so he was staring at the ceiling. “C’mon, Ari. I know you want your business to succeed, but I really, really can’t imagine what a harpy and I would have in common.”
