First Line Friday – Demon Besieged

Demon Besieged turned a year old this week. What better way to celebrate than by sharing the first few lines?

Using the type of magic that could be bought in back alleys was considered ill-advised for a reason. Besides the fact that you never really knew what you’d end up with or how potent the magic was, it tended to be rougher and hurt.

But when the only option you had to travel to another plane to avenge your sister’s death could be found in a dark alley, you took what you could get.

That was what Jazz kept telling herself as the magic twisted her up and burned like the very fires of the hell dimension she had traveled to.
