Heading back to Grimwood for the 3rd book in the series was certainly fun. Especially since I got to retell one of my favorite fairy tales, Beauty and the Beast. Isobel’s isolation in the lonely manor house in the heart of the woods was… interesting to write. When you’re so deeply involved in the telling of the story, it’s hard to judge whether you’re doing her crazy justice or not.
Oh. I guess I should mention that Isobel is a little crazy when we first meet her. She’s been on her own for a LOOOOONNNNNG time and is the sort of socially awkward and feral that makes you want to hide.
