First Line Friday – Refuge

Posted October 16, 2015 by Kelly Apple in First Line Friday, Stronghold / 2 Comments

FLF-BlackIt’s my birthday tomorrow. What better way to celebrate than with zombies! (As an aside, finishing Stronghold, the final book in this series, feels like a major accomplishment. SO REVEL IN THE ZOMBIES, MY FRIENDS! REVEL IN THEM!)

Emma rubbed her eyes and shivered. A quirk of design and miles of chrome and tile left the kitchen chilly no matter the temperature outside.

Not that she was complaining.

Better to be cold inside than dead outside.

The way she’d been feeling the past couple of days, the cold wasn’t just physical. It cut through her soul and made her numb to the body in the dining room and the shambling figures who pressed against the windows with bloody fingers if she ventured past the kitchen doors.

Make sure you visit the other ladies sharing teasers from their WIPs… Amanda Shofner and Christi Snow.

Until next week!
