“You don’t need my help?” The wail burst out of her despite her valiant effort to keep it locked down.
It was probably petty, but it made her feel slightly better when Vane’s expression morphed into one of chagrin. He didn’t like when she cried. He didn’t like any emotional extremes, to be honest.
Which made their friendship somewhat amusing since she was all about emotion and color and screaming her feelings to the sky.
Sometimes literally when she and Liam got busy outside.
“Now, Arabella—”
Why did all the monsters resort to using her full name when they were trying to placate her? Liam did it constantly.
“Vane,” she wailed.
The big gargoyle winced at the ear piercing tone she hit.
